TAA Process
The Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program includes three phases:
Phase 3 Project Implementation
MATAAC's Project Managers act as contracting managers with your firm and the private-sector consultants during the implementation of projects. MATAAC's staff will assist you in: preparing requests for proposals (RFPs) for consulting work; selecting prospective consultants; reviewing and evaluating consultants' responses and bids; negotiating and issuing contracts; and monitoring the consultants' performance.
You Are in Control
Your firm selects the consultant who will assist in the implementation of projects. MATAAC can help you find a consultant in a specific area of expertise if needed. You and the consultant team of your choice implement the projects outlined in the Adjustment Plan. And, once approved for TAA funding, a company has 2 to 3 years to make use of the available funds to implement projects that improve its competitive position—at a pace that works best for the company.
How Much Can You Get?
The amount of total technical assistance that your firm can qualify for is based on several factors, including your firm's size and complexity as well as those issues unique to your circumstances.
